PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) is a kind of light fluoride material, with the working temperature ranging from -70 to 150 . It features superior corrosion resistance, mechanical property, electrical insulating property, low friction coefficient, weatherability, and radiation tolerance. Moreover, the tensile strength is two times higher than PTFE, the compressive strength six times higher than PTFE, and the abrasion resistance similar to nylon.
1). high tensile strength
2). high mechanical strength
3).high rigidity(also at low temperature)
4).high chemcial resistance
5). very low water absorption
6). good firction and wear & tear values
7). high UV-resistance
8).toxic tumes when burned
9).self-extinguishing
10).relatively high coefficient of thermal expansion
Application:
1.High purity water
2.Halogen
3.Acid applications
4.High temperature applications
5.Pressure applications
6.Solar glazing
Specification
Material Composition:
PVDF is a fluoropolymer belonging to the family of thermoplastics. It is derived from vinylidene fluoride monomers through polymerization. The resulting material exhibits outstanding chemical resistance, even against highly corrosive substances such as acids, bases, solvents, and halogens.
Chemical Resistance:
One of the primary advantages of PVDF pipes is their excellent chemical resistance. They can withstand a wide range of aggressive chemicals without degradation, making them suitable for use in industries such as chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, water treatment, and semiconductor manufacturing.
High Temperature Stability:
PVDF pipes have a high melting point and can withstand elevated temperatures compared to many other thermoplastics. They remain dimensionally stable and retain their mechanical properties even at temperatures approaching their melting point, which is typically around 170-175°C (338-347°F).
Mechanical Strength:
Despite being a thermoplastic, PVDF exhibits excellent mechanical strength and toughness. PVDF pipes can withstand high pressures and mechanical stress without deformation or failure, making them suitable for applications where mechanical durability is essential.
UV Resistance:
PVDF pipes have good resistance to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, making them suitable for outdoor applications where exposure to sunlight is unavoidable. They do not degrade or become brittle when exposed to sunlight over extended periods.
Ease of Installation:
PVDF pipes are lightweight and easy to handle, making them convenient to install. They can be joined using various methods such as solvent cementing, heat fusion, or mechanical fittings, depending on the specific requirements of the application.
Hygienic Properties:
PVDF is inherently resistant to microbial growth, making PVDF pipes suitable for use in applications requiring high levels of hygiene, such as food and beverage processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and cleanroom environments.
