Working Mechanism:

1. Opening and Closing:

   • Manual Operation: The valve is operated manually using a handwheel. When the handwheel is turned, the stem moves up or down, causing the disk to rise or fall against the seat.
   • Actuated Operation: In automated systems, the valve can be operated using electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic actuators that turn the stem.

2. Flow Regulation:

   • When the valve is closed (disk seated against the seat), it completely blocks fluid flow, preventing any liquid or gas from passing through.
   • As the handwheel is turned counterclockwise, the stem moves the disk away from the seat, opening the valve and allowing fluid to flow through. The amount the disk is lifted determines how much fluid can pass through, thus enabling precise flow control.
   • When partially opened, the disk creates an annular space around it, allowing fluid to flow but still controlling the rate of flow effectively.

3. Fluid Dynamics:

   • The design of the globe valve typically results in a more tortuous flow path compared to other valve types (like gate valves). While this can lead to a higher pressure drop across the valve, it enables fine control over flow rates and reduces the risk of water hammer in piping systems.

4. Throttling Capability:
