Flange, also called flange flanged disk or flange. Flange is a shaft and shaft parts connected to each other, for the connection between the end of the pipe; also used in the import and export of equipment on the flange, for the connection between the two devices, such as reducer flange. Flange connection or flange joint, refers to the flange, gasket and bolt three interconnected as a group of combined sealing structure of the detachable connection. Pipeline flange refers to the piping device in the piping flange, used in the equipment refers to the import and export flange of the equipment. There are holes on the flange, and the bolts make the two flanges tightly connected. The flanges are sealed with gaskets. Flanges are divided into threaded flanges, welded flanges and clamping flanges. Flanges are used in pairs, low-pressure pipelines can use silk-joined flanges, more than four kilograms of pressure to use welded flanges. A gasket is added between the two flanges and then bolted tight. Flanges of different pressures have different thicknesses and they use different bolts. Water pumps and valves, in connection with the pipeline, the localization of these devices and equipment, but also made of the corresponding flange shape, also known as flange connection. Where the two planes around the use of bolts to connect the connection parts closed at the same time, generally known as the "flange", such as ventilation pipe connection, this type of parts can be called "flange parts". But this connection is only a local equipment, such as flange and pump connection, it is not good to call the pump "flange parts". Comparatively small, such as valves, etc., can be called "flange parts".
Flange connections are made by pressing the flange faces of two pieces of equipment together and fastening them with bolts and nuts to achieve a tight connection. During the connection process, gaskets or packing are often used to ensure that the flange joints are sealed against leakage. This connection method is used in a wide variety of industrial applications to ensure reliable connections between pipes, valves, pumps and other equipment.
