Water valves are important for controlling the flow of water in a system. One specific type of valve, called a check valve, has a special job: it lets water flow in one direction but stops it from flowing backward.
Check valves play a vital role in plumbing and maintaining water systems. In this article, we will explore the functions of a check valve, explain its importance and provide insight into the different types of check valves available on the market.
·Used to prevent backflow usually fitted downstream of a pump.
·Thick wall thicknesses for longer service life under corrosive service
·170% opening standard port for flow path
·Disc anti-rotation system to prevent it from rotating 360 degrees due to flow effect.
·Cast iron refurbishing qualified in accordance with ASME B16.34 radiographic requirements
·Cast Steel, bolted cap and flanged
·Can be installed in horizontal or vertical, upward flow piping
·Offer low resistance to flow and are particularly suited to low velocity service
·Seat ring is seal welded to eliminate leak paths
Check valves are very flow-sensitive, which means they open and close based on the flow of the line fluid. The interior disc enables which helps to flow forward, allowing the valve to open. Based on the design, the disc starts shutting the valve when forward flow diminishes or reverses.
The body, seat, disc, and cover are usually the only parts that need to be assembled. Other components may include a stem, hinge pin, disc arm, spring, ball, elastomer, and bearings, depending on the design.
In pipes and similar devices and equipment, check valves are generally used to prevent a reverse flow by allowing materials or fluids to flow in only one direction. Despite their various forms, sizes, and functions, these valves generally operate based on the same principle.
The primary components of a check valve include the Body,Body Seats,Gasket,Cover Plate,Hinge,Nuts,Washer.
