A forged steel globe valve is a type of industrial valve that is manufactured using a forging process, where solid metal is shaped under high pressure and temperature. Here's an overview of forged steel globe valves:
Construction: Forged steel globe valves are made from forged steel, which is formed by applying compressive force to metal blanks or ingots. This process results in a stronger and more durable material compared to cast steel.
Design: Similar to cast steel globe valves, forged steel globe valves feature a globular-shaped body with internal components such as a disk or plug, seat, stem, bonnet, and handwheel or actuator.
Applications: Forged steel globe valves are commonly used in high-pressure and high-temperature applications where strength, durability, and reliability are crucial. They are suitable for industries such as oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, and refining.
Pressure Ratings: Forged steel globe valves are available in a wide range of pressure ratings to suit different applications. Common pressure ratings include Class 1500, Class 2500, and higher.
Materials: Forged steel globe valves are typically made from materials such as carbon steel, alloy steel, or stainless steel, depending on the specific requirements of the application.
End Connections: These valves may feature flanged, threaded, or welded end connections to facilitate installation in pipelines.
Flow Control: Like other globe valves, forged steel globe valves provide precise control over flow rates, making them suitable for applications that require accurate regulation of fluid flow.
Actuation: Forged steel globe valves can be manually operated using a handwheel or equipped with actuators for automated control. Actuators, such as electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic actuators, allow for remote operation of the valve based on process parameters or signals from a control system.
Overall, forged steel globe valves offer strength, durability, and reliable performance in demanding industrial environments, making them a preferred choice for critical applications where safety and efficiency are paramount.

The small forged steel globe valve is the most widely used valve. It is so popular because the friction between the sealing surfaces during opening and closing is small, it is more durable, the opening height is not large, the manufacturing is easy, and the maintenance is convenient. Forged steel globe valve is suitable for medium and low pressure, and also suitable for high pressure. Its closing principle is that, relying on the pressure of the stem, the sealing surface of the disc and the sealing surface of the valve seat are closely adhered to prevent the circulation of the medium.
The forged steel globe valve only allows the medium to flow in one direction, and it is directional during installation. The structure length of the forging steel globe valve is greater than that of forged steel gate valve, while the fluid resistance is large and the seal reliability is not strong when operating for a long time.
Design/Inspection standards: API 602, ASME B16.34, ASME B16.5, EN ISO 15761, ASME B16.25, ASME B1.20.1, ASME B 16.11.
(1) Efficient packing seal at backseat to ensure no leakage from stem.
(2) Fully guided disc ensures accurate alignment of disc and seat and reduces wear on seating surfaces.
(3) Outside Screw & Yoke construction facilitate stuffing box maintenance.
(4) Metallic ring gasket or spiral wound gasket can be applied to ensure the tight seal of body/bonnet joint.
(5) Versatile styles of discs which can be furnished for different purposes.
